A small plot of Riesling grafted in 2008, on deep sandy soil with pockets of black clay.
The vineyard is in the westernmost reaches of our vineyard, at the feet of a depression in the hills that form the backbone of our estate, which funnels cold sea wind into the valley. The vineyard is therefore one of our coolest, but rarely suffers from spring frosts.
An ode to elegance and complexity, characterized by intense, deep aromas, these wines of great body are accompanied by concentrated flavors that integrate with the oak. Fruit and wood are perpetual partners, evolving together in perfect harmony in the bottle. Made for special occasions.see more
Made from Riesling grapes affected with botrytis, the grapes were harvested in late July, when the fruit has reached high concentrations of sugar. The juice is extracted by traditional pressing, then fermented in French oak barrels, and aged for 12 months. On the nose, mandarin, creme brulee and peach notes predominate. In the mouth, rich notes of walnut, toasted almond and honey effortlessly combine with a bright, refreshing acidity to give excellent structure and a long finish.see more
