Maipo Valley:
Has a Mediterranean climate, with few rains (mainly concentrated in winter) followed by a hot summer which is very appropriate for the correct ripeness of the grapes.
The temperature variation also presents some differences according to the location; for example, the upper Maipo areas are hotter and winds coming from the Cordillera de Los Andes help to produce the slow grapes ripeness, so wines normally develop more structure, concentration and firm tannins; instead, in the lower Maipo areas, temperature is mild, in consequence, wines are more fruity (of the ripe red type, in the case of red wines) with round and soft tannins.
In general, soils, from alluvial origin, have good porosity and drainage
(Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva and Gran Bosque Private Reserve)
Rapel Valley:
The Mediterranean climate offers moisture and windy conditions similar to those in Maipo.
Is located to the south and its vineyards have been primarily planted on alluvial areas at altitudes of 600 to 1000 meters. Diverse micro-climates provide for the cultivation of different varietals. The Rapel Valley is foremost a red wine region. (Carmenere Reserva y Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva)
